Blogging to Get a Job, Job Search 2.0

Karen Blogs and Uses Twitter to Look for Work

I recently had a conversation with Karen Bolipata, who just moved to NYC to pursue her dream of being a writer. I am fascinated by stories of people who are laid-off, and who use that experience to explore new parts of themselves. Who use their freedom to pursue their dreams. Read my other post called, An MBA in Hammering Nails.

Karen wrote this in her blog:

Things were going well until The Great Recession, when I found myself without a job and the sudden need to redefine my priorities. I wanted to see the world, move somewhere exciting and forget journalism altogether.

So I wanted to find out how far she got in pursuing her dreams of traveling, writing and photography.

Watch this inspiring video to learn how she uses a combination of blogging and Twittering to get her name out there, find freelance work and grow her reputation.
