What Is Your Google Grade? Review of a free Google grader tool

by Joshua Waldman on April 22, 2010

Considering that 70 to 80 percent of potential employers are going to Google you, it makes sense to see how well you are doing in that area. In the video below, I review an easy to use free tool from Brand-Yourself.com — a tool that gives you a grade.

Remember to do something with this grade, don’t just post it on the wall. If you get a B- or below, it means you really need to release more content. At the very least your LinkedIn profile should be on the first page. If not:

  • If you have a common name such as Jane Johnson, start using your middle initial ALL THE TIME
  • Customize your LinkedIn URL so that it has your name spelled out in the address

Otherwise, just keep creating online profiles, blogs and other submissions. This stuff takes time, but at least now you’ll know the situation you’re dealing with.
